Zesty new pastry & coffee shop to open in Strongsville this fall

Ohio’s Strongsville — A vacant retail space at the northwest corner of Albion Road and West 130th Street is set to become the location of a coffee shop and pastry business.

Zest Pastry & Coffee Co. will be housed in a structure located on a half-acre lot at 10252 W. 130th St.

According to the Zest website, all of our pastries are made fresh every day with premium ingredients.

We take great delight in running a scratch kitchen and meticulously prepare our pastries by hand every single day.

The Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office website states that a 200-square-foot cooler-and-freezer addition to the structure, which is now approximately 1,300 square feet, was approved by the Strongsville Planning Commission on July 10.

Although the corporate website states that Zest will debut in Strongsville this fall, the exact opening date is unknown.

Additionally, it is unclear if Zest is a website-only business or if it currently runs in a different physical location. Additionally, it is unclear if Zest will offer indoor seating or solely serve takeaway.

On Monday, a corporate representative informed Cleveland.com that she would not comment on the company.

Zest was formed by Ryan and Nicolette Zahniser, a husband and wife team from Strongsville, according to the company’s website.

Nicolette Zahniser is an interior designer, and Ryan Zahniser is a systems engineer.

They both love coffee, and Ryan Zahniser has researched the chemistry involved in making cold brew coffee.

According to the company website, the two, who grew up and presently reside in Strongsville, decided to create their first shop there because they perceived a need in the market and believed that the area would significantly benefit from the inclusion of a craft coffee shop.

According to the website, one of Zest’s co-owners is baker Julia Estephan. Although she has been baking cookies, cupcakes, and pastries since she was a little child, she graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

According to the website, Julia started creating the bakery goods and company concepts that would eventually become Zest Pastry Company during her final year of college.

Her mission today is straightforward: to provide the neighborhood with freshly baked pastries.

Muffins, scones, buns, loaves, coffee cakes, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, blondies, pies, and shortbread bars are among the baked goods that Zest will produce and serve.

Additionally, Zest will make a large assortment of pour-over coffees and espressos.
