On August 16, at 9:27 a.m., a woman house-sitting for a friend called the police department to report that she had just opened the front door of her friend’s home and discovered a man laying on the floor of the living room. According to a police event record, the individual was taken into custody by police officers on suspicion of burglary and disorderly conduct while inebriated.

Madison Avenue was stolen.

On August 9, a female resident complained that someone had stolen her passport from her mailbox.

Detroit Avenue was stolen.

At nine in the morning on August 10, the assistant manager of the Marc’s store on Detroit Avenue close to Cook Avenue called the police department to report that a suspected shoplifter was being held. The man was charged with laundry detergent theft. He was taken into custody on misdemeanor accusations of drug paraphernalia and theft.

Vehicle involved in grand theft: Marlowe Avenue

On August 10, at 11:12 p.m., a resident claimed that their car had been taken from their driveway. There was broken glass in the driveway. A police event report states that the car was stolen somewhere between August 6 and late August 10. Police reported the car as stolen and logged it into a police database.

Enhanced danger: Edgewater Drive

On August 12, at 7:16 p.m., police were called to Edgewater Drive near W. 117th Street in response to a report of women fighting. Both women were interviewed by officers in a parking lot. A police event report states that one woman was taken into custody for aggravated menacing.

W. 117th Street is OVI.

On August 14, at 3:15 a.m., officers were called to W. 117th Street near Detroit Avenue after receiving a report of a dark four-door vehicle parked on the curb close to the McDonald’s drive-thru. A police event report said the car looked like it might have collided with a dumpster. The female driver was in tears. According to the incident report, she was arrested for driving under the influence and with an open container.

Victoria Avenue (OVI)

On August 14, just after 7 p.m., a lady was arrested by police for driving under the influence after arriving late at a school facility on Victoria Avenue to pick up her child from a day camp. By 6 p.m., she was expected to arrive. A caller informed the cops that woman seemed drunk when she arrived. According to a police department event record, the woman was arrested by an officer for driving while inebriated.

OVI: Avenue Detroit

A male motorist was arrested by a patrol officer on August 16 at 2:33 a.m. for operating a vehicle while intoxicated on Detroit Avenue at Bunts Road.
