Ohio’s Middleburg Heights — At around 1:30 in the morning on August 10, a 42-year-old man from Parma Heights who was wanted was taken into custody after a woman overdosed in his hotel room at the Red Roof Inn, located at 17555 Bagley Road.

Regarding the woman, a hotel visitor and his spouse had contacted the police. The man from Parma Heights came out of his room to find the pair smoking cigarettes outside the motel.

He inquired if they had Narcan, an antidote for heroin and opiate overdoses.

The visitor went into the man’s chamber with his spouse. The 36-year-old Elyrian woman was on the ground. She was not breathing and was unconscious.

The visitor started the woman’s CPR. Her body temperature was high, yet she began to breathe. She was led to the bathtub by the visitor and his spouse, who then ran cold water over her.

As the visitor and his spouse cared for the woman, they observed the man collecting objects from the room, including a medicine bottle, and putting them in a bag.

He cleaned a TV stand of white powder.

The man left the room with the bag in hand. The visitor thought the man had thrown the bag behind bushes on the building’s south side.

The bag was discovered by the police when they arrived. They thought the six white, powdery rocks inside were cocaine.

After that, police discovered that multiple arrest warrants had been filed for the individual. They put handcuffs on him.

The individual disputed that he was the owner of the bag that contained suspected drugs. Security footage, however, showed the man dropping the bag close to some shrubs.

Paramedics arrived to treat the woman in the meanwhile. She declined to be taken to a nearby hospital.
