Taking stock of the Browns’ running back room: Friday’s Sports 4 CLE
The Browns had a changing of the guard in 2024.
Cleveland traded its prior WR1 in Amari Cooper, which opened room for Jerry Jeudy to take over, and he would on his way to a Pro Bowl season.
As for the remaining options ahead of 2025, it’s an unproven cast that features Diontae Johnson, along with recent draftees Cedric Tillman and Jamari Thrash.
PFF’s Trevor Sikkema wrote this about the outlook of Cleveland’s receiving corps:
“The Browns’ team-wide 65.3 PFF receiving grade last season ranked second worst in the NFL, and they did little to fix that heading into 2025. Jerry Jeudy led the way with a 74.9 PFF receiving grade, and tight end David Njoku added a passable 65.3 mark. Cedric Tillman and Jamari Thrash will have to really step up, and perhaps rookie running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson can help from the backfield, too.”
