The two major parties’ messaging in the 2024 election cycle was in sharp opposition to one another. While the right made lofty promises to the working and middle classes that they were unable to fulfill, the left concentrated on marginalized groups and moderate conservatives.
What, however, have both parties accomplished for the working and middle classes? Since the Affordable Care Act, not much. They have recently improved our moods by making things worse for people who are less fortunate than us.
The men and women who are the backbone of this nation have been overlooked. They are the ones who move it, nourish it, serve it, and keep it safe. Those who pay the highest taxes appear to benefit the least from them.
Reinvesting in Americans is long overdue. comprehensive Pre-K, universal health care, accessible education, and required maternity and paternity leave for new parents. These are what will restore our greatness. Not politicians who are only there to sell us hate or raise money on instability.
Do we wish to be great? After that, we must give them the chance and means to achieve greatness. We must expect greatness now.
