Two people injured following vehicle crash in Ohio

Ohio Authorities claimed that during a police pursuit that started in Northern Kentucky and culminated in a collision in downtown Cincinnati, two people were hurt.

The incident started during a theft investigation close to the Newport Pavilion, according to Newport police.

Near Tire Discounters, police tried to stop a car that was stuck behind another vehicle.

According to the police, a Newport cop fired bullets at a patrol car when the driver backed up around it. Whether each occupant was hit by gunshots is unknown.

The car then drove off north on I-471. According to the police, it crashed on East 3rd Street in downtown Cincinnati after losing control at Exit 5 to US 50.

Due to non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the collision, the driver and passenger were transported to UC Medical Center. Their identities are still under wraps.

According to authorities, both people will be charged in Kentucky. The inquiry has been taken over by the Kentucky State Police since an officer discharged a handgun.
