North Carolina According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found thousands of dollars in cash, many firearms, and over 14 pounds of illegal substances in a Union County residence last week, leading to the arrest of two persons.
When authorities first pulled over 46-year-old Phillip Blount in Monroe while he was operating a truck, they discovered that he had an active arrest warrant for an unrelated offense.
Officers found almost 50 grams of methamphetamine in his car during a search. A search warrant for his home was obtained as a result of that discovery.
Deputies found a sizable cache of illicit drugs and firearms inside the house, including:
- Over 6.5 pounds of meth
- More than 5.5 pounds of marijuana
- 2 pounds of pressed pills
- Over 200 grams of cocaine
- 360+ grams of psychedelic mushrooms
- 18 grams of MDMA
- A small quantity of fentanyl
- Four pistols, including one reported stolen
- $66,000 in cash
Jessica Diehl, 44, was discovered by authorities to be a second drug trafficker associated with the residence during the search. She was taken into custody as well.
Blount is being jailed on a $2,000,000 secured bond and faces at least ten narcotics and handgun offenses.
Diehl is being jailed on a $1,000,000 secured bond in connection with several drug-related crimes. The Union County Detention Center is where both suspects are being held.
