Two people arrested following drug bust in Kentucky

KENTUCKY The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reports that a couple from Tennessee was taken into custody following a drug investigation near Interstate 75’s exit 49 over the weekend.

Jeremy and Angela Nelson were pulled over by deputies, who then searched their car.

Authorities said they discovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia, such as glass pipes and baggies, during the search.

Both were admitted to the Laurel County Correctional Center and are charged with several counts of narcotics trafficking and drug paraphernalia possession.

In addition, Angela Nelson was accused of driving with an ineligible license plate and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

The couple is being jailed on a $25,000 cash bond each, according to court documents. On July 15, they are expected to appear in court at 11 a.m.
