Rocky River City Schools announce administrative changes: Short Takes on the Westshore

Rocky River, Ohio

Not only are the Rocky River City Schools welcoming a new superintendent for the 2025–2026 school year, but several administrative transitions are also taking place.

Incoming Superintendent Adham Schirg has been working closely with Interim Superintendent Liz Anderson, district staff, and hiring committees throughout the summer to ensure a smooth transition, according to a press release sent by new district Communications Specialist Christa Lokiec who was hired last month to replace Greg Murphy who left the district for the Beachwood City Schools.

The district is partnering with the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio to appoint a one-year interim principal for Rocky River High School. This will allow time to conduct a comprehensive, community-inclusive search for a permanent leader, according to district officials.

Two assistant principal positions at Rocky River High School have been posted, and the district has begun the interview process.

Tara Zbin has been promoted to Executive Director of Pupil Services. She previously served as supervisor of pupil services and preschool administrator.

The district will appoint an interim supervisor of pupil services and preschool administrator for the upcoming school year. This interim placement will allow the district time to conduct a thorough and inclusive search for a permanent leader.

With the departure of Executive Director of Human Resources and Operations Samuel Gifford later this month, Jason Crowe takes over the position. He comes to Rocky River from the Mentor Public Schools, where he served as high school principal.

The new supervisor of facilities and maintenance is Colonel Ed Ciura, who also serves in the U.S. Army Reserves.
