President Donald Trump practically had American soldiers on their knees to give him red carpet treatment on Friday in Alaska. Trump welcomed war criminal Vladimir Putin with cheers as Putin once more used him as a pawn.
In 2023, the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for Putin’s arrest on charges of war crimes, including kidnapping Ukrainian children.
Putin renewed his war in Ukraine in February 2022 after seizing Crimea in 2014, resulting in death and destruction.
Trump discussed a potential ceasefire and peace agreement that would include land exchanges at an Air Force facility in Alaska prior to the summit.
There was no ceasefire or peace agreement at the end of the exchange. With a photo-op victory, Putin was able to avoid sanctions. Trump’s sole victory was that Putin refrained from demanding the return of Alaska, which included Mar-a-Lago.

In a post-summit interview with FOX News’ Sean Hannity, Trump gave the conference a perfect score. Trump changed his stance after Putin’s talking points, stating that a ceasefire was less significant than achieving a peace agreement.
According to the post-op from the conference, Putin wants to provide Ukraine an Article 5-style security guarantee in exchange for not joining NATO and giving Russia the region it now controls in eastern Ukraine, including Donetsk and Luhansk.
President Trump briefed NATO leaders and Ukrainian President Zelensky, and he also spoke with Sean Hannity. Trump and Zelensky are scheduled to meet at the White House on Monday.
