Approximately 122,250 of Werner Co.’s 20-foot and 24-foot Multi-Max Pro multipurpose ladders are being recalled due to concerns that the ladders’ locking mechanisms jammed, providing a significant fall risk.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the recall Thursday, affecting ladders sold online and at Home Depot stores across the country between November 2021 and February 2024. The range of prices was $200 to $281.
Werner reported that it had 18 fall-related reports, with 14 injuries ranging from scratches and bruises to fractures of the wrist, leg, and ribs.
The ladders that are impacted are silver with blue labels on the top and sides. According to the CPSC, the label has the model numbers ALMP-20IAA or ALMP-24IAA along with the name Werner in an oval and MULTI MAX PRO.
Customers are advised to contact Werner for a complete refund and to cease using the ladders right now. Once the recalled ladder has been disposed of appropriately, checks will be given for the refund.
Customers can reach Werner by email at [email protected] or by phone at 888-624-1907, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time, for additional information.
