Tennessee The Metro Nashville Police Department’s Most Wanted list for the week of June 25, 2025, now includes a 21-year-old guy with a serious criminal past.
According to Metro police, De Tynn Smith is wanted for a number of charges, including aggravated robbery, first-degree premeditated murder, attempted first-degree premeditated murder, and using a firearm while committing a violent felony.
Smith has committed violent crimes in Nashville before. He and another defendant, Alan Beverly, were charged with carjacking, escaping arrest, and vehicle theft in 2022 when he was eighteen years old.
According to the police, in late May 2022, the two stole a woman’s Chevrolet Malibu and held her 8-year-old boy at gunpoint outside a market on Jefferson Street.
Both suspects tried to escape on foot, but the stolen car was later found at a Walmart on Dickerson Pike. According to reports, Smith threw a pistol while running, and police subsequently found it.
Smith was regarded as the department’s Top Most Wanted fugitive in 2023, one of his earlier appearances on the Most Wanted list. Before making a comeback this week, he was last added to the list in December 2024.
Some of the most dangerous criminals in the city are listed on the Most Wanted list; these individuals are frequently indicted for crimes like domestic abuse, sexual assault, and murder.
More than 165 fugitives on the list have been captured or turned themselves in since its inception in October 2022, including more than a dozen in 2025 alone.
