Criminal mischief and property damage: Park Avenue

On the evening of August 16, a woman arrived at the police station to report that her 2020 Mercedes-Benz had been scratched while parked in the Pinecrest neighborhood next to Pinstripes, most likely using a key.

She was attending a party at the restaurant when the damage to both sides of the car happened, somewhere between 12:15 and 3 p.m.

As she moved her Mercedes into the slot, she described how the driver of a dark SUV seemed to be waiting for the same spot and then sped away.

The officer looked through the lot’s security cameras and saw footage of the confrontation and the other motorist parking her SUV somewhere else.

After that, the suspect strolled back to the Mercedes while chatting on the phone and dragging something down each side of her parking rival’s vehicle with her other hand.

The suspect’s license plate number was later obtained by police using departmental cameras and license plate readers.

After that, the police got in touch with the registered owner, a woman from Shaker Heights, who acknowledged that she had scratched the Mercedes-Benz out of annoyance and was prepared to make up for the damage.

She received a date in Bedford Heights Municipal Court along with a summons for criminal mischief.
