KENTUCKY According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, a head-on collision at the intersection of West KY Highway 90 and KY Highway 1546, which has a history of fatal collisions, killed a man and injured four others Monday evening.
It was just after 7 p.m. when deputies arrived on the scene. According to investigators, a 59-year-old male from Wayne County was traveling west on KY 90 when he tried to pass another car and struck an eastbound pickup truck head-on.
Two adults and two kids from Albany, Kentucky, were in the truck.
The coroner declared the vehicle’s driver dead at the scene.
Two of the pickup’s four occupants were later evacuated to another facility for additional treatment after all four were taken to a nearby hospital.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
