Florida The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a woman from Wesley Chapel passed away Wednesday afternoon after a collision on State Road 52.
The incident happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. when the 37-year-old woman was traveling west on SR-52 in a Ford Explorer.
Meanwhile, on the same road, a 51-year-old Orlando guy was operating an international cargo truck in an eastern direction.
The woman tried to make a U-turn and got into the approaching truck’s path, according to FHP. After colliding, the two cars came to rest on the highway’s outside shoulder.
After being taken to a neighboring hospital, the woman passed away from her wounds. The truck driver was sent to the hospital for treatment after suffering minor injuries.
Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
