KENTUCKY A guy has been taken into custody by Kentucky State Police in relation to a gunshot death that took place in Bullitt County early on Sunday morning.
The Pioneer Village Police Department asked state troopers for help in investigating a shooting in the 3000 block of Pioneer Trail at approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 29.
Troopers discovered 33-year-old Aaron Welker dead from a gunshot wound to the head, laying face down in the kitchen.
Kent Russell, 34, was also present at the scene; he was questioned by detectives and then taken into custody.
He is presently being imprisoned at the Bullitt County Detention Center on a murder accusation.
Welker’s corpse was taken by the Bullitt County Coroner’s Office to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, where an autopsy is set for Monday morning.
The inquiry is still under progress.
