One person dead after train strikes truck in Tennessee

Tennessee A train and a dump truck collided late Monday morning in Humphreys County, resulting in one fatality.

According to the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. in Waverly, close to the crossroads of Scepter Road and Sawmill Lane, right off Highway 70.

According to authorities, the dump truck spilled diesel fuel and oil onto the road as a result of the collision.

The route is still closed after emergency personnel arrived on the scene. When it will reopen to traffic is still unknown.

The inquiry is being assisted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. As of yet, no additional information has been made public.
