One person dead after train strikes car in Alabama

Alabama In downtown Auburn, a train and automobile collided Thursday morning, killing one person.

The incident occurred on the railroad lines close to Gay Street at approximately 7:30 a.m., according to the Auburn Police Department.

The train has subsequently been removed from the tracks when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

The reason of the tragedy is still being investigated, and the victim’s identity has not yet been made public.

Gay Street is still closed as of Thursday morning, however traffic has resumed on Donahue Drive, Ross Street, and College Street.

Auburn Police are still looking into what happened.
