North Carolina After a 39-year-old man died in March from a narcotics overdose, a guy has been taken into custody.

On Saturday, June 28, 52-year-old Fredrick Bivens was charged with death by distribution and is currently being jailed on a $1 million bond.

Police were called to a residence on Monroe’s Broome Street on March 4 regarding an unresponsive individual.

Officers discovered Jerry Deese in critical condition.

Deese was declared dead in spite of quick action and attempts to save his life. Later, it was determined that he had overdosed on drugs.

Following a thorough investigation, investigators determined that Bivens was the source of the medications that killed Deese. After being captured, he is being detained in the Union County Detention Center.

Chief Rhett Bolen stated, “Let this case serve as a clear message: if you distribute deadly drugs in our community, you will be held accountable.”

My agency is steadfast in its resolve to bring those who profit from drugs to justice and hold them accountable for their activities.
