One person arrested for attempted murder in Kentucky

KENTUCKY According to officials, a guy is charged with several offenses after purposefully causing a house fire on Thursday night.

Around 6:30 p.m., the Russellville Rural Fire Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrived to 199 Hancock Lake Road to investigate a structure fire.

According to an inquiry, Rodney Belcher, 58, of Russellville purposefully started fires in multiple places within the house using a torch. At the moment, there were two persons inside the house.

Belcher was eventually apprehended without incident by deputies after they discovered him at his residence.

He faces charges of criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, two counts of attempted murder, first-degree arson, and drug-related offenses.

Belcher has a $250,000 cash bond and is being held at the Logan County Detention Center. His court date is set for Monday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m.
