One person arrested after traffic stop leads to drug bust in Michigan

Michigan Authorities in Presque Isle County say they seized a loaded weapon, cash, and almost a pound of illegal substances during a traffic check.

Deputies from the Huron Area Narcotics Team (HUNT) and the Michigan State Police Alpena Post pulled over a car on 451 Road in Hawks Township on June 24.

Investigators found over 170 grams of suspected powder cocaine, 114 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 25 grams of crack cocaine, several $50–$100 Dollar General gift cards, and $536 in cash in the suspect’s car during the stop.

A second search was carried out at the suspect’s home after the vehicle search.

In addition, authorities found a loaded unregistered handgun, hundreds of little baggies that are frequently used to package drugs, forty-two grams of suspected methamphetamine, sixty grams of powdered cocaine, forty-six oxycodone tablets, seven hydrocodone pills, and $300 in cash.

The following things were found during the traffic stop and at the residence in total:

  • 231 grams of powder cocaine
  • 156.1 grams of methamphetamine
  • 50.2 grams of crack cocaine
  • 46 oxycodone pills
  • 7 hydrocodone pills
  • $836 in cash
  • 1 unregistered handgun

The total amount of drugs found was 437.3 grams, or around 0.96 pounds.

The Presque Isle County Jail is now housing a 63-year-old Millersburg man who was arrested. The suspect’s name has not been made public by the authorities until after arraignment.
