Ohio’s Orange
Chagrin Boulevard, I-271 traffic stop, warrant served, suspended driving, and illegal plate display
Around 9:15 p.m. on July 21, a patrol officer pulled over a Kia Sorento after spotting what appeared to be a temporary registration tag from Ohio that was obscured by a heavy tint on the rear window, making it impossible to read the tag’s expiration date.
The motorist, a 28-year-old guy from Cleveland, then displayed several misdemeanor warrants from several agencies in addition to an active license suspension.
Orange police issued penalties for the incorrect license plates and the suspension for non-compliance with the Financial Responsibility Act (FRA), while Cleveland Metroparks police came on the scene to take the person into jail.
Police brought his keys to the station for safekeeping after learning that he had left them in their cruiser, along with a woman’s lanyard and connected ID.
Corrections personnel at the North Royalton jail, where the driver was brought, were alerted by Orange police to forward the information.
