The city of Philadelphia Former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond is anticipated to sign with the Browns shortly, but even though his sexual assault case was dropped on Thursday, the NFL may still sanction him.
In an email response to cleveland.com, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated that the league is looking into the situation.
As a rookie who participated in the NFL Scouting Combine and made himself eligible for employment in the NFL, Bond, 21, is governed by the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. After being arrested two weeks prior to the 2025 draft, Bond was not selected and never signed a contract as an undrafted free agent.

Will Quinshon Judkins rejoin the Browns soon + why would they consider signing Isaiah Bond? (Podcast)
The Browns have followed Bond during the legal process and are wrapping up their due diligence. They spent a lot of time scouting Bond during the pre-draft process and took him to CrossCountry Mortgage Campus for a top 30 visit. They will sign him shortly if everything goes according to plan.
The Browns took advantage of Bond’s freedom to sign with any NFL team after a grand jury in Texas Collins County on Thursday no-billed his charges, ensuring he would not be charged.
Although the contract had not yet been formalized, Bond declared on X on Thursday that he was signing with the Browns. After they tie up some loose ends, it is anticipated to occur over the course of the following few days.
The Browns will head back home following their preparations for Saturday afternoon’s second preseason game against the Eagles. On Tuesday, the players return to camp after not practicing on Sunday or Monday. Bond, a speedster who was predicted to be selected in the third round, might be playing with them on that day as they get ready for the season’s dress rehearsal game, the third and final preseason game on Saturday against the Rams.
