Cleveland, Ohio The U.S. Junior Amateur golf championship concludes at 3 p.m. Eastern on the Golf Channel on Saturday, marking the start of one of the world’s top junior golf competitions.
You can watch the game live on a number of streaming platforms, including Sling (special deals), DIRECTV (free trial), and Fubo ($20 off first month).
Over the course of a week, the top junior golfers are put to the test in both stroke play and match play forms at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
In junior golf, winning the U.S. Junior Amateur is regarded as one of the greatest accolades. Male amateur golfers under the age of 19 who have a USGA handicap index of 4.4 or below are eligible to participate.
The winner frequently gets invited to other prominent amateur competitions and is granted an exemption into the U.S. Amateur the following year.
A few of U.S. Junior Amateur champions have achieved great success in their professional careers. Two-time champion Jordan Speith (2009-2011) and Tiger Woods (record three wins 1992-1993) are two examples.

About Hamilton Coleman
As the Junior Amateur draws to a close, the 17-year-old Georgia native leads by three strokes.
Coleman, who committed to the University of Georgia, began playing golf at a young age and was able to advance through local clubs.
He had already taken center stage, as seen by his victory in the Junior Players Championship last year.
Coleman defeated Luke Colton, a Vanderbilt commit, in the semifinals, giving him the opportunity to win as a Georgia recruit since Brian Harman in 2003 and become the first Georgian to win the U.S. Junior Amateur title since Andy Shim (2012).
About Nguyen Anh Minh
With his success at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship this week, Vietnamese golf prodigy Nguyen Anh Minh has drawn the attention of the world’s golf community.
The 17-year-old Hanoi native defeated Qiyou Wu to go to the final after dominating the match play bracket.
In addition to dominating Asian junior competitions, he has been instrumental in raising Vietnam’s stature in amateur golf. He represented his nation at the Asian Games and international amateur competitions in 2023 after winning the Vietnam National Championship as a teenager.

History of the U.S. Junior Amateur
The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship has been the premier junior golf event since its founding in 1948. It has served as a testing ground for the most gifted young athletes in the world and a springboard for some of the biggest names in sports.
The competition was established to provide the top under-19 male amateurs in the country with a platform to compete at the highest level and is sanctioned and run by the United States Golf Association (USGA). It has done precisely that for the last 77 years.
Dean Lind won the first championship at the University of Michigan Golf Course in 1948, the event’s first location. There was no real national stage for junior golf at the time. That vacancy was promptly filled by the U.S. Junior Amateur.
The championship expanded in size and prestige in the ensuing decades. By the 1970s, hundreds of submissions were coming from all over the nation, and by the 2000s, it began to attract greater interest from abroad.
Tiger Woods is the name most closely associated with the U.S. Junior Amateur. The adolescent sensation won an unprecedented three straight championships from 1991 to 1993, solidifying his legacy and paving the way for the career of what is perhaps the greatest golfer of all time.
International participation in the Junior Amateur has significantly increased in recent years. Nowadays, athletes from Australia, South America, Europe, and Asia frequently qualify and compete.
