Guardians-White Sox opener rained out; split doubleheader scheduled for Friday

Chicago The Guardians vs. White Sox series opener at Rate Field on Thursday has been rained out. It will now take place on Friday as a day-night doubleheader.

The game has been postponed and will begin at 3:10 p.m. At 8:10 p.m., the regularly scheduled game is set to begin.

Gavin Williams will start for the Guardians in the second game, while left-hander Logan Allen will start the first.

Shane Smith and Jonathan Cannon will start for the White Sox in Game 1 and Game 2, respectively.
