Bieber struck out five of the eight batters he faced, allowing a hit and a walk in two scoreless innings for the Guardians’ Arizona Complex League team against the Dodgers at Goodyear Ballpark.
Scratched from his scheduled June 6 rehab
outing in Akron after experiencing elbow soreness, Bieber had not appeared in a game since throwing 2 1/3 scoreless frames and striking out five against Rangers prospects in Arizona on May 31.
The next step for Bieber could be a rehab start for Columbus or Akron next week, depending on how he responds to Tuesday’s effort.
