CHICAGO —
Guardians
outfield prospect Chase DeLauter is out of the lineup at Triple-A Columbus because of a sore right wrist.
DeLauter, the Guardians’ first-round pick in 2022, did not start Saturday night and was out of the lineup again Sunday in the Clippers’ final game before the International League All-Star break.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound DeLauter is scheduled to have his wrist examined during the break.

DeLauter has been dealing with the soreness in his wrist for the last couple of weeks. The symptoms increased before Saturday’s game, causing him to not play.
In 34 games at Columbus, DeLauter is hitting .278 (35 for 126) with five homers, 21 RBI and a .876 OPS (onbase percentage + slugging percentage).
DeLauter’s offensive potential has captured the imagination of the Guardians and their fans, but he has had trouble staying healthy since being drafted. This is the latest setback in a long string of setbacks.

RHP Shane Bieber (right elbow): He threw a bullpen session on Sunday and will throw a two-inning rehab game Tuesday in Goodyear, Arizona.
