DeLauter has been trying to play through the wrist injury for the last two or three weeks. He missed the last two games before the All-Star break on July 12 and 13 because of the wrist.

The Guardians gave him permission to go home for the break, thinking the time off would help heal the wrist. But the pain has continued and the Guardians are putting together a plan to see what is causing it.

DeLauter was the Guardians’ first-round pick in 2022. He’s hitting .278 (35 for 126) with eight doubles, five homers and 21 RBI in 34 games at Columbus.

Staying on the field has been DeLauter’s biggest hurdle since being drafted. He’d dealt with a variety of injuries, including foot and toe injuries, hamstring issues, a sports hernia and now a wrist injury.
