CLEVELAND, Ohio — Hollie Strano is back on the air, forecasting the weather, just not where you think.
The former WKYC Channel 3 meteorologist is now voicing daily weather reports for radio stations in Alabama and Georgia,
she announced on her Facebook page
on Sunday.
“Grateful for the opportunity, and excited for what’s ahead,” she wrote. “Let’s do this.”
Strano will still be based in Northeast Ohio, where she records her “Abruptly Authentic with Hollie Strano” podcast.
The new gig comes nearly a year after she was fired by the local NBC affiliate following more than 22 years at the station. Strano later sued her former employer, claiming she was dismissed for speaking publicly about her struggles with alcoholism.
Strano was involved in a one-car accident in Cuyahoga Falls on Thanksgiving 2023. She later pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence and was sentenced to a six-day, driver-intervention program in lieu of jail time. She was fined $375, plus court costs, and received a one-year license suspension.
On her current podcast
, Strano covers topics “such as sobriety, mental health and all things Cleveland.”
