Ohio’s ChAGRIN Falls — Residents of Chagrin Falls will start receiving their new blue garbage/recycling carts this week from Dumpster Bandit, the village’s new trash and recycling service provider.
Dumpster Bandit will begin picking up recyclables and trash from residences in Chagrin Falls the first week of September.
The Chagrin Falls Village Council authorized an ordinance awarding the five-year trash/recycling contract during its meeting on July 14.
Two one-year extension options are included in the contract.
Based in Chardon, Dumpster Bandit mostly picks up trash and recyclables from Geauga County as well as the nearby regions of Cuyahoga and Lake counties.
Rob Jamieson, the chief administrative officer of Chagrin Falls, stated that the municipality discussed the service given by Dumpster Bandit with the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority, the municipality of Burton, and the Village of Bratenahl.
Jamieson stated that Dumpster Bandit’s waste and recycling collection was praised by all three government agencies.
Residents in Chagrin Falls do not directly pay for the pickup of their trash and recyclables. Income tax and a minor amount of property tax are the primary sources of funding for the program.
Jamieson claims that a conservative budget analysis estimates that the village will save about $100,000 over the course of the contract by switching to Dumpster Bandit.
Residents are encouraged to keep their empty Kimble carts on their tree lawns following the garbage and recycling pickup on August 28–29. Kimble will pick them up between August 28 and September 2.
