AVON, OH This week, workers are concentrating on excavating and setting up new drainage systems at one of Avon’s busiest junctions as part of the first phase of a significant upgrade.
Improvements at the intersection of Detroit Road and State Route 83 are the focus of the project, which got underway in July. It involves enlarging the pavement on both roads to create new turn lanes and through lanes, improving the intersection’s overall functioning and traffic flow. Pavement resurfacing, new traffic signs, pavement marking replacements, and freshly constructed and modified traffic lights are additional enhancements.
Drivers should anticipate seeing material delivery and construction trucks coming in and going out of the site. When driving through the region, the city advises drivers to use caution.
On the west side of State Route 83, a temporary concrete barrier wall has been erected to keep live traffic away from the active work area while sawing and excavation are being done. Access to nearby companies is unaffected by this obstacle; they are all still open.
Before the focus switched to road widening and storm sewer repairs, new traffic patterns were implemented in late July.
Residents and commuters can check the City of Avon’s website for project updates.
