Astronomer board takes action after Coldplay kiss cam spectacle with CEO, HR chief

Astronomer’s board of directors has opened an internal inquiry after

a video from Wednesday’s Coldplay concert

showed its CEO, Andy Byron, and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot in an intimate moment on the stadium’s kiss cam, the company confirmed in a statement.

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,”

the statement reads

. “The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter, and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”

Astronomer also stated that there were no other employees in the video, adding that Byron has not put out any statement.

The clip, captured at Gillette Stadium, quickly went viral and ignited a media frenzy over whether company values were compromised.

Astronomer has placed both Byron and Cabot on administrative leave, with co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy stepping in as interim CEO,

From the stage, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin said he hoped the band didn’t do anything wrong after joking initially, “either they’re having an affair or very shy,” referring to the pair caught on the kiss cam.

Coldplay has not issued any official statement regarding the incident or the subsequent internal investigation by Astronomer.

The clip stirred global conversation and brought focus to corporate ethics, privacy and executive conduct.
