Trump shared on Truth Social around 9 a.m. in a post that has since been reposted on X (formerly Twitter) that “there is a big clamoring for” the clubs to return to their former nicknames of “Redskins” in Washington and “Indians” in Cleveland, and that “Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen.”
Antonetti said the social post was not something he had been paying a lot of attention to, or tracking.
“But I would say generally, I understand that there are very different perspectives on the decision we made a few years ago,” Antonetti said. “Obviously it’s a decision we’ve made and we’ve gotten the opportunity to build the brand as the Guardians over the last four years and are excited about the future.”
