After auto collision, man threatens to shoot woman: Shaker Heights police blotter

Dangerous: Avalon Road

A 55-year-old Cleveland man was taken into custody by police at 2:15 p.m. on August 20 after he allegedly threatened to shoot a 26-year-old Cleveland woman in the 3000 block of Avalon Road.

The victim and the arrested man had been in a rear-end car accident in Cleveland before the threats.

In her car, the victim followed the man into Shaker Heights. There was no gun.

Shaker Boulevard domestic violence

Officers were called to the 14000 block of Shaker Boulevard at 6:05 p.m. on August 17 after a 45-year-old Shaker Heights woman stated that her 45-year-old husband had repeatedly hit her in the face.

The man was arrested by police on charges of domestic abuse. The victim refused to receive medical care.

Van Aken Boulevard was stolen.

Officers were called to Walgreens, 20200 Van Aken Blvd., at 8 p.m. on August 17 when a 19-year-old Shaker Heights man reported that his bicycle had been stolen by an unidentified person.

When the bike was parked outside the store, it was not locked. The bike was worth fifty dollars.

Violence against women: Westbury Road

A 30-year-old woman who resides in the 13000 block of Westbury Road said that her children’s father had beaten her and then left her home at 6:35 a.m. on August 18.

After receiving treatment, the woman was discharged from a nearby hospital. The 32-year-old Cleveland man who is the suspect is still at large.

Chagrin Boulevard warrant arrest

An electronic license plate reader alerted authorities at 7:45 a.m. on August 19 that a 30-year-old man from Warrensville Heights was operating a Chevrolet car near Chagrin Boulevard and Milverton Road. The guy was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for vandalism.

After finding the car and verifying the warrant, the officers took the man into custody. After that, he was given to county deputies.

Chagrin Boulevard warrant arrest

Officers pulled over a GMC car at the intersection of Chagrin Boulevard and Milverton Road at 10:15 p.m. on August 19. Due to a back plate illumination infringement, the car was pulled over.

Then, detectives discovered that the 47-year-old Bedford Heights man who was riding in the car was wanted by Cleveland police for strangulation.

After verifying the warrant, officers took the suspect into custody and turned him over to Cleveland police.

Fairhill Road fraud

At 11:50 a.m. on August 20, a 35-year-old Shaker Heights resident who lives in the 12000 block of Fairhill Road claimed that an unidentified suspect had gained unauthorized access to his Zelle app and scammed him out of $1,300.

Motor vehicle usage without permission: Norwood Road

A 22-year-old Akron lady said that at 2:00 p.m. on August 20, her 21-year-old female friend from Garfield Heights had stolen her leased Nissan car while they were in the 3000 block of Norwood Road.

The woman from Garfield Heights would not return the car.

Lee Road is the weapons offense.

Officers saw a Kia car violate a stop sign at Hampstead Road and Lee Road at 1:05 p.m. on August 20.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Maple Heights, drove off, collided with a curb, and then tried to flee when officers tried to stop the car.

The man was stopped, taken into custody, and a loaded firearm was found by the officers. He was charged by the police with traffic infractions and improper handling of a handgun in a motor vehicle.

The Hildana Road scam

A 36-year-old woman who lives in the 3000 block of Hildana Road reported that someone had accessed her Apple account and made purchases totaling more than $100 at 1 p.m. on August 21.

Shaker Boulevard was stolen.

Officers were called to the 14000 block of Shaker Boulevard at 3:25 p.m. on August 21 when a 75-year-old man claimed that a suspect had stolen his $1,100 worth of washer and dryer.

Arrest warrant: Scottsdale Boulevard

Officers were called to the 16000 block of Scottsdale Boulevard at 8:45 p.m. on August 21 and took a 43-year-old Shaker Heights man into custody.

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office wanted the man for breaking and entering. The man was allegedly trespassing at a Scottsdale house when he was taken into custody.

The individual was turned over to county deputies by the officers.
