Actor Alon Aboutboul has away. He was most recognized for his parts in the films The Dark Knight Rises, Rambo III, and the FX series Snowfall. He was sixty years old.
According to Ynetin Israel, Aboutboul, a native of Kiryat Ata, Israel, passed away on Tuesday morning after falling on HaBonim Beach close to Tel Aviv. He apparently told onlookers he wasn’t feeling well before collapsing as he was coming out of the water. CPR was apparently administered to him, but it didn’t work.
One bystander told Ynet on Tuesday that it happened in a moment. When he entered the water, everything appeared to be fine. A few minutes later, he abruptly emerged from the water, went up to people, and claimed he wasn’t feeling well. They then asked for assistance. He emerged from the sea and fell on the shore, leaving everyone frightened. When he emerged from the water, everyone knew who it was and wanted to assist. This morning, there was a tragic event that left everyone in shock.
Mark Teitelbaum, Aboutboul’s manager, announced the actor’s passing on Tuesday.
Teitelbaum told the Hollywood reporter that Alon was a great actor, a true artist, and an Israeli icon, but more significantly, he was a devoted father to his four children and a close friend to me and many others. He was a unique example of both spiritual and moral clarity. His family is shocked, as you could expect. He will be sorely missed. I hope his memory brings him blessings.
According to his IMDb page, Aboutboul’s acting career consisted of over 100 film and television credits, starting with Morning Star in 1980. Aamir Barkawi in London Has Fallen, Nissem in Rambo III, Al-Saleem in Body of Lies, and Dr. Pavel in The Dark Knight Rises are some of his well-known performances. In addition, he made appearances in 20 episodes of 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, 25 episodes of Snowfall, and, most recently, eight episodes of The German.
Israel’s minister of culture and sport, Mike Zohar, honored the late actor in a statement on Tuesday.
Hearing of the unexpected death of actor Alon Abutbul, may his memory be blessed, Zohar in apost to X, made me very sad. He talked about filming a movie he recently worked on in an interview I watched last night, and even after all these years in the business, his enthusiasm for what he does was clear. As a recipient of both the Television Academy Award and the Ophir Award, Alon made a significant impact on Israeli society by portraying a variety of characters and giving them nuance and feeling. May God bless his memory.
