Ohio’s Mineral City After his mother is suspected of driving a golf cart into the water with her kids inside, a 4-year-old Amish boy was discovered dead in Atwood Lake.
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office informed the Canton Repository that the boy’s father is missing and that investigators are worried about his safety.
According to Sheriff Orvis Campbell, the incident took place close to Atwood Marina West on Saturday at approximately 10:39 a.m. According to the publication, the mother, whose identity was withheld, was taken out of the water and subsequently admitted to the hospital for mental health issues.
Three of her kids, including twin 18-year-old sons and a 15-year-old daughter, made it out unscathed.
The publication stated that deputies suspected foul play after questioning the wife, the children, and witnesses.
Campbell claimed that reports raised concerns about the youngest child and her husband, and that the mother made troubling remarks regarding talking to God.
The 4-year-old kid was found at a boat dock at 6:03 p.m. after divers combed the lake.
The Holmes County family had been spending the weekend at Atwood Lake.
About 20 miles to the south of Canton is the lake.
