“I was probably one of only a few guys in the league who could tell you who won the Premier League the previous season when I first joined the NBA in 2015,” Nance said. Soccer is now a topic of talk in the locker room all the time.

Over the past ten years, soccer’s appeal has increased significantly, and the NBA has seen an increase in players that regularly watch the game due to its global significance.

Nance has a long history of love for soccer. He continued to play until he was sixteen years old, at which point he gave up to concentrate mostly on basketball. Nance’s passion for soccer never wavered, even as a prep star at Richfield’s Revere High School and a subsequent first-round selection out of Wyoming.

Through Leeds owner 49ers Enterprises, he and Pacers guard T.J. McConnell acquired a minority investment in Leeds United, a newly promoted Premier League team, in 2023.

Wearing the blue and yellow, complete with a scarf and bucket hat, Nance has since made every effort to visit England in order to experience the passionate atmosphere and cheer for the team. Nance’s social media activity increases almost every Leeds gameday.

Breaking down the other sport he loves so much with fellow football fans, this new off-court endeavor allows him another way to show his enthusiasm.

According to Nance, this show will provide players from across the league with a platform to discuss their passion for soccer, similarities between the two games, and our perspectives as professional athletes.

LeBron James purchased a share in Liverpool over twenty years ago. Jason Kidd, the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, most recently became a member of Everton’s ownership group.

Among those who have shown their love for soccer are LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler, and Victor Wembanyama. During a few pickup soccer matches this summer, Wembanyama became viral while playing on the field during a Paris St. Germain vs. Manchester City match in Paris.

The NBA even took inspiration from European soccer for its NBA Cup in-season competition.

According to MIBMN Founder and CEO Roger Bennett, the relationship between basketball and football is one of the most intriguing overlaps in sports today. The number of NBA players who are devoted to the Premier League is on the rise, as is the crowd of Premier League players who scramble to be courtside at NBA games during every international break.

Larry Nance Jr., who has long facilitated the connection between the two sports, is the best person to understand how each group of players views the other’s game, passing, and movement. He will use this show to invite some of the NBA’s biggest names to celebrate their sporting passions in a manner that is literally “Game Recognizes Game.”
