Ohio’s Cleveland On Wednesday morning, two firefighters were hurt in a house fire in Montville Township.
According to a department press release, Medina firefighters responded to a residential house fire in Montville Township shortly after midnight.
Before firefighters arrived, the residents of the house on Derby Drive fled. Flames erupted from the building’s roof while firefighters battled the fire, resulting in significant damage.
Seville-Guilford and Lafayette Township incident were among the other agencies that responded to the incident.
Two officers from the Montville Police Department were also dispatched to the area.
Two firefighters from Medina were injured and transported to the hospital. Chief Larry Walters told cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer that one of the firemen was released Thursday afternoon and the other is anticipated to be released shortly.
Walters did not elaborate on the nature of the firefighters’ injuries.
According to Walters, the family that was relocated from their house is currently residing with friends or family.
Calls for Montville Township are handled by the Medina fire department.
According to Walters, authorities are looking into what started the fire, but they think it began outside at the back of the house.
The extent of the house’s financial loss from the fire is unknown.
