Shedeur Sanders deals with injury, more on Browns QB situation: Wednesday s Sports 4 CLE
Did you think the Browns’ offensive play today was a bit sloppy?
Yes, I do believe that there are always areas you want to improve and clean up after practicing, but that’s true of anything. Every practice game, including walkthroughs, has its advantages and disadvantages, as well as areas for improvement.
Since the club informed us that Shedeur (Sanders) sustained an oblique injury early in the throwing workouts, there has undoubtedly been a fresh development today, Dillon. It appears that you will most likely start on Saturday, however I’m not sure what you know or don’t know. So, could you just discuss the opportunity that you have?
I have no idea what will occur. I’m exactly where I need to be. However, that is up to the coaches, and we have plenty of time until then. Time will tell, and we’ll see what occurs.
And what happens if you do get the start? What do you want to demonstrate that you’ve been out for a while? Your own hamstring. How annoying has that been? And if you go out there, what do you hope to demonstrate?
Yes, there should be no frustration—just things that you need to improve on and things that you need to tackle. Sometimes, while you’re trying to improve, things don’t work out the way you want them to. But trying to get back is just daily labor. I also make an effort to simply be present. When it arrives, I’ll be ready and eager to get started. We’ll see. However, I’ve observed that the top competitors have been present and have been authentic by competing at a high level.
Is the hamstring fully recovered now?
Soon, we’ll know here.
Have you ever experienced a soft tissue injury, such as a hamstring strain, during your time in college or elsewhere?
Yes, sometimes. When you’re competing for a long time, I believe there are periods during college, whether it’s training or something else entirely, when you take a break and then immediately return. It’s simply going through that process, then.
Based on your feelings today, do you think you’ll be physically capable of playing if Kevin Stefanski says, “Hey, we want to throw you out there to start this game?”
I’m not sure whether I can respond to that question, but I will say that I feel better right away and that things have been going well. You simply want to continue feeling great and stacking things that way. wish to keep up that trend.
In what way did you feel frustrated while you were sort of waiting?
There was only one thing to do: keep moving forward.
In spite of the fact that you talk a lot about mental reps, rep theft, and other such things, you would at least be able to view the action in real time while you’re injured. How much of a help did that keep you from falling too far behind?
Yes, I believe that many people view situations as either opportunities or threats, and a mentally healthy person always sees the potential. Every day is an opportunity, so I just keep trying to be in that frame of mind and mentality. You can either coast or get better when you wake up. Whatever it is, I’m constantly striving to improve my mental repetitions. You may improve in the weight room or the training room, for example. That’s my main focus, then. And I’m simply focusing on that every single day because I’m in that nice frame of mind.
To what extent do you sympathize with Shedeur (Sanders) for coming here for these crucial procedures?
Indeed, injuries are the worst thing about playing football.
At this point in the preseason, do you think this week is crucial for you and where you stand in the hierarchy?
But, you know, every day is crucial, so you could have asked me that next week and the week after. Every single day is crucial, and since that’s all you have, you must treat it that way every single day. You are also only as excellent as your most recent experience. Yes, everything is crucial and significant every day, and it must be that way when you’re playing against elite teams every single week.
When you guys get together as an offensive tonight, do you think you’ll have the resolve to return tomorrow and play like cleaner ball, hang on to it better, and all that?
Yes, that’s how we always do it. You know what I mean? You don’t enter a session with the mindset, “Hey, let’s just give.” You want to practice in a certain way, but you have to go do it. That’s the end of it. It must be applied from the classroom to the field, and you must take a particular attitude because, you know, little things can make all the difference, and you never know what will ultimately determine whether you win or lose.
On Monday, I spoke with Gage (Larvadain). Naturally, I believe that Shedeur (Sanders) has had a very strong camp and that everyone has kind of gotten along well. What has it been like to watch him grow and change as an undrafted rookie and contribute positively to the team?
fiercely competitive. As a quarterback, you can sense that he approaches each day in a particular way, and you value that. Additionally, you want to get the ball to him because you know that if there is a specific alert or a time when you can, you know, optimize his talent, he will make a play. Additionally, I believe that he has been incredibly reliable, which is exactly what you need in a man like him. He has done that each and every day.
