Columbus, OhioEddrick Houston, a football player for Ohio State, appeared to have suffered a right leg injury during practice on Thursday.

Fortunately for the Buckeyes, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports that the injury does not seem to be a long-term issue.

Thamel said on X (previously Twitter) that the preliminary findings indicate it is not regarded as significant.

Houston is anticipated to start at defensive tackle as he enters his sophomore year.

Although losing a projected starter is always concerning, Houston’s predicament felt more severe due to the position he plays.

Throughout the spring, coach Ryan Day has voiced worries over the depth of the Buckeyes at defensive tackle. It’s unknown who among Tywone Malone, Jason Moore, and Will Smith Jr. will emerge as a strong contender after Houston and Kayden McDonald.

On Thursday, Ohio State practiced without pads, and on Friday and Saturday, they will continue to do so. Fans will have access to both practices, just like they did on Thursday.
