New York’s Cooperstown. As media availability for Sunday’s baseball Hall of Fame inductions began, the quiet village of Cooperstown was a hive of activity early on Saturday.

Before their awards event at the Alice Busch Opera Theater, Tom Hamilton of Cleveland, the renowned broadcaster who has called games for the Indians and Guardians for 36 years, spoke with Thomas Boswell of The Washington Post, an honoree of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

After Saturday’s event, Hamilton discussed why baseball is the only sport that he will be pursuing with the Guardians and why he believes it is the only one that can be televised.
