Disorderly conduct: Lorain Road

A man on July 1 reported to North Olmsted police that he had been the victim of a road rage incident on June 24 in the city in which the other driver shouted obscene and racist remarks.

The complainant said he was driving along Lorain Road near Columbia Road when he attempted to change lanes. The driver behind him began honking his horn and aggressively driving alongside the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant said he slowed down, and the other driver began to “brake check” him.

Both vehicles pulled into a nearby parking lot, where the suspect got out of his vehicle and began yelling obscene and racist comments, according to comments the complainant made to a police officer. The complainant also accused the suspect of making an obscene hand gesture. The complainant used his cell phone to record video of part of the incident. The police report noted the suspect’s “aggressive behavior” and “continuous racial slurs” that appeared on the video.

Police identified the suspect through a license plate photo that the complainant provided.

Police charged the suspect with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
