One of the biggest blockbusters of 2006 was Night at the Museum.
Ben Stiller played a man who accepts a job as a museum security guard for the night and discovers that the exhibits come to life when he is on duty due to an old curse. Additionally, it included Rami Malek, Dick Van Dyke, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, and Ricky Gervais.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, its two sequels, were also box office successes. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, an animated feature, was the fourth movie.
According to Variety, 20th Century Studios and 21 Laps Entertainment are now developing a reworking of the original film. The script is apparently being written by Tripper Clancy.
According to Deadline, the upcoming film will include brand-new characters. Plot specifics, however, are being kept under wraps.
According to Parade, the revelation has not been well received on social media, with many moviegoers becoming tired of reboots. Among the responses are “No thank you,” “Just stop it already, Hollywood,” and “Come up with an original idea!”
