Ohio Police say a shooting at a party at a short-term rental in east Columbus early Friday morning left a kid dead and five others wounded.

At around 2:40 a.m., Columbus Division of Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Wilson Avenue, close to East Livingston Avenue, following allegations of a shooting.

Three people with gunshot wounds were discovered at the scene, according to the police.

Later, three more people with gunshot wounds showed up in nearby hospitals.

Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert reported that four adults and two adolescents were among the six casualties. At 3:09 a.m., one of the young patients was declared dead at a hospital. The non-life-threatening injuries of the other victims were treated.

According to investigators, the suspect showed up after the party had already begun. The reason is still a mystery, and no more information has been made public.

The inquiry is still under progress.
