One person arrested following drug bust in Florida

Florida After police discovered more than 600 grams of cocaine and duffel bags containing cash on Wednesday morning, a Palm Springs condominium became the focus of a significant drug investigation.

Officers from the Palm Springs Police Department carried out a search warrant at a home in the 4500 block of Emerald Vista at approximately six in the morning.

Police then discovered Sergio Guzman, 33, driving through the apartment complex, despite the fact that he was not home during the original search.

Officers searched the home after taking Guzman into custody after he got out of his car.

Investigators claim they discovered the following inside the apartment:

  • 626 grams of cocaine
  • $15,000 in cash stored in a duffel bag
  • Drug paraphernalia including pipes and scales
  • 20 alprazolam pills
  • Two handguns

Guzman was charged with several weapons violations, cocaine trafficking, and possession of a controlled narcotic. The inquiry is still under progress.
