The state of Virginia The Bedford Fire Department reports that a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Moneta Road and Whitehouse Road Tuesday morning resulted in one person being sent to the hospital.
According to emergency personnel, on July 2, the Moneta Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the site first.
When a motorist became trapped inside a car, emergency responders had to remove the roof and doors in order to safely rescue the person. After then, the patient was sent to a neighboring hospital to receive care.
According to fire officials, all of the people inside the second car involved managed to escape unharmed despite it rolling over.
The cause of the collision is being looked into by the Virginia State Police.
