One person injured after being struck by vehicle in Kentucky

KENTUCKY The Louisville Metro Police Department reports that a 19-year-old male was hit by a car Tuesday night in southern Louisville and is in critical condition.

After receiving a complaint of a pedestrian being struck, officers arrived at the intersection of Fern Valley Road and Shepherdsville Road, which connects the communities of Highview, Newburg, and Okolona, at approximately 7:40 p.m.

The teenager was suffering from blunt force trauma when the police came.

He had life-threatening injuries when he was taken to UofL Hospital, and his status is now rated as critical.

The involved driver talked to investigators while staying at the site. Although the LMPD Traffic Unit is still looking into the matter, no charges are anticipated at this time.
