One person dead after being struck by vehicle in Tennessee

Tennessee The Metro Nashville Police Department reports that a man was killed early Saturday morning in South Nashville after being hit by a car while crossing the street.

Around 12:30 in the morning, the event took place in the 800 block of Murfreesboro Pike.

The man, who is thought to be 63 years old, was struck by a Ford Escape while he was crossing the street between Murfreesboro Pike and Plus Park Drive and Murfreesboro Pike and Spence Lane, according to the police.

Crosswalks are available at both of the surrounding crossroads, according to the authorities.

After being taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the pedestrian was declared deceased. According to investigators, the Ford’s driver stayed at the site and did not exhibit any symptoms of impairment.

The victim’s identity is being verified by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The inquiry is still under progress.
