One person dead, two injured in Virginia vehicle crash

The state of Virginia A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 64 in Henrico County early Sunday morning claimed the life of a 27-year-old Richmond woman whose car overturned.

At 4:54 a.m., Virginia State Police arrived at the site close to mile marker 196, just past the Airport Drive exit on westbound I-64.

Investigators claim that a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox sideswiped a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 in the right rear.

The Mercedes flipped over and landed on its roof in the middle lane as a result of the incident.

The Mercedes’ driver, Richmond resident Tameecha F. Chambliss, 27, was declared dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, according to the police.

Alexandria Telisha Gamble, 27, of Richmond, was a passenger in the Mercedes and was sent to a hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries.

Miguel Andres Munive Rangel, 46, of Doswell, was the driver of the Chevrolet and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations into the crash are still ongoing. While the Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team worked at the scene, westbound lanes of I-64 were blocked for a number of hours.
